1. Overview
The BSAPE name, logo, and all associated credential marks are the exclusive intellectual property of the British Society for Accreditation of Professional Engineers. They represent the trust, standards, and credibility that BSAPE has built within the engineering community. These guidelines exist to protect the value and integrity of BSAPE credentials and to ensure consistent, accurate representation of BSAPE across all channels.
Use of the BSAPE name or logo without authorisation — or in a manner inconsistent with these guidelines — constitutes a breach of BSAPE's intellectual property rights and may result in legal action.
2. Who May Use BSAPE Logos
BSAPE-Accredited Professionals
Individuals holding current BSAPE professional accreditation (Certificate of Completion, Certificate of Skill, or Certificate of Achievement) may use the BSAPE Accredited Professional logo mark on professional correspondence, email signatures, CVs, LinkedIn profiles, and professional portfolios, provided the relevant credential mark and certificate type are displayed accurately.
BSAPE-Accredited Organisations
Organisations with current BSAPE organisational accreditation may display the BSAPE Accredited Organisation badge on their website, marketing materials, and correspondence for the duration of their accreditation period.
BSAPE Approved Providers
Training and assessment providers holding current Approved Provider status may display the BSAPE Approved Provider logo on course materials, provider websites, and promotional content directly relating to BSAPE-aligned programmes.
Press and Media
Journalists and publishers may use the BSAPE wordmark in editorial contexts for factual reporting about BSAPE or its activities, provided usage does not imply endorsement and does not alter the logo in any way.
3. Approved Logo Variants
BSAPE provides the following official logo variants for authorised use:
- Primary colour logo: BSAPE wordmark with full-colour primary palette — for use on white or light backgrounds
- Reversed (white) logo: for use on dark or coloured backgrounds where the primary logo would not be legible
- Monochrome (black) logo: for single-colour print applications
- Credential badge marks: certificate-specific badges (e.g., BSAPE Accredited — Certificate of Skill) for use by accredited professionals
Logo files in approved formats (SVG, PNG, EPS) are available to authorised users via the BSAPE member portal at app.bomeqp.com. Always use the files provided — do not recreate or re-draw the logo from scratch.
4. Clear Space and Minimum Size
To maintain logo legibility and visual impact, observe the following rules:
- Clear space: maintain a minimum clear space around the logo equal to the height of the letter 'B' in the BSAPE wordmark on all sides
- Minimum digital size: the full wordmark should not be reproduced at less than 120px wide in digital applications
- Minimum print size: the full wordmark should not appear at less than 25mm wide in print
- The BSAPE logo should never appear cramped, overlapping, or competing with other visual elements
5. Prohibited Uses
The following uses of the BSAPE logo, name, or credential marks are strictly prohibited:
- Altering, distorting, rotating, or stretching the BSAPE logo or any component of it
- Changing the colours of the logo outside of the approved colour variants
- Placing the logo on backgrounds that reduce legibility or create a confusing visual impression
- Combining the BSAPE logo with another organisation's logo or branding in a way that implies a formal partnership, endorsement, or joint venture without BSAPE's prior written consent
- Using the logo in connection with products, services, or activities that BSAPE has not approved or accredited
- Using the BSAPE name or logo to imply BSAPE accreditation or approval that has not been granted or has expired
- Reproducing the logo on merchandise, apparel, or gifts without express written permission
- Using the logo in any context that is discriminatory, offensive, or brings the engineering profession into disrepute
6. Credential Marks
BSAPE-accredited professionals may reference the following credential codes alongside their name, provided their accreditation is current and in good standing:

Credential codes must be used accurately and only for the certificate type held. Misrepresenting a higher certificate type is a serious breach of the Code of Ethics and may result in withdrawal of accreditation.
7. Permission Requests
For uses of the BSAPE logo or name not covered by these guidelines — including co-branding, publication partnerships, events, and all commercial uses — prior written permission must be obtained from BSAPE. Submit requests to brand@bsape.com with a description of the intended use, the context, and the target audience.
