Approval & Listing
If approved, your organisation will be listed on the BSAPE Approved Providers directory and issued with a formal Approval Certificate valid for three years.
Ongoing Compliance
Approved providers are subject to an annual self-assessment review and a full re-assessment every three years. BSAPE may also carry out unannounced quality monitoring visits.

Can universities apply for Approved Provider status?
Yes. Higher education institutions offering engineering degree programmes or CPD courses are welcome to apply. The assessment process is adapted for academic providers.
How long does the approval process take?
Initial assessment takes up to 20 working days from receipt of a complete application. Where an assessment visit is required, total processing time is typically 6–8 weeks.
What types of training can be approved?
We approve training in any area aligned to BSAPE's competency framework, including technical engineering CPD, professional skills, management for engineers, and preparatory programmes for accreditation applications.
Can approval be withdrawn?
Yes. BSAPE may suspend or withdraw Approved Provider status if quality assurance reviews identify significant concerns, or if a provider fails to comply with the BSAPE Provider Standard or Code of Ethics.
