About Our Standards

BSAPE's accreditation standards define what it means to be a competent engineering professional at each certificate type. They are developed by our Standards & Policy Committee in consultation with industry, academia, and accredited professionals, and are reviewed on a regular cycle.

All framework documents are freely available. We believe that transparency in our standards is fundamental to the integrity and credibility of the accreditation process.

Standards Review Cycle

All BSAPE framework documents are subject to a formal review cycle. Core framework documents are reviewed every three years, with interim updates issued as needed to reflect changes in engineering practice or regulatory requirements. Stakeholders, including accredited members and approved training providers, are consulted during major reviews.
